Antonio Brown Signed To 5 Year Extension

Steelers announced the signing of WR Antonio Brown to a 5 year extension. This will mean Brown will remain a Steeler through the 2017 Season.

Last season, Brown made NFL history with at least 1,000 receiving yards as well as over 1,000 return yards. He also finished the season with 69 receptions, second to Mike Wallace. Brown was also voted the team's most valuable player by his teammates.

Steelers Rally Around Kirby Wilson's Return

Running backs coach Kirby Wilson, coming off suffering life-threatening severe burns at his home last January, was thankful he was back with the Steelers. "It's awesome," Wilson said. "My favorite time of year. The most rewarding camp I've had," he added.

With Rashad Mendenhall still recovering from knee surgery, Wilson is looking forward to the challenges ahead. When asked about the competition in camp for roster spots, Wilson simply replied, "It's heated." I'm sure that pun was unintended.

Welcome back Coach!!!

Happy Birthday Pittsburgh Steelers---79 Years Young Today

On July 8, 1933, Art Rooney gave birth to the greatest football franchise in NFL history, The Pittsburgh Steelers. Originally known as the "Pirates," the team would not be called the Steelers until 1940.

It wasn't until the 1970's when the Steelers would start dominating the League with four Super Bowls. In the 1990's, the Steelers once again were one of the dominant teams in the League. After losing to the Cowboys in Super Bowl XXX, the Steelers showed their grit and determination ascending to victories in Super Bowls XL and XLIII

The Steelers played in a total of 8 Super Bowls winning 6 of them including 4 in six years.

Expect Steelers To Take The AFC North: Building A Solid Foundation; Steelers Images and Photos in Demand

Steelers Should Take The AFC North...Again

12-4 in 2011. That's not good enough for both the Pittsburgh Steelers and their fans. Expectations by both are that the Steelers should---once again---stand atop the AFC North.

There is no debate that the division remains one of the toughest in the NFL. The Ravens are always seem to be in the Steelers rear-view mirror.  But there continues to be no doubt that Roethlisberger will lead the offense effectively even with the addition of new OC Todd Haley. There are also indications that Haley will provide more opportunities for his running backs. Although Mendenhall might lose his lead back position, Redman is capable of stepping in and doing an effective job. In addition, it now appears Roethisberger will have better protection from his offensive line considering a makeup of two first-round pics and two second-round picks. That should come as  good news for a quarterback whose been the most sacked in the last six NFL seasons.
