  • May 7, 2012: K Grant Ressel released.

David Johnson
Likes The Move

By all reports, David Johnson likes his move from tight end to fullback. His first response when asked about the move, "I need to go on a diet." Even more interesting, the fullback slot has been vacant since 2007 when Dan Kreider left the team. Bruce Arians, former offensive coordinator, preferred more pass attacks.

Johnson believes learning the position is not going to be that difficult. "It's actually a little bit easier," he said. "That's all I've got to learn now is fullback," he added.  AP

Steeler Fans Will Still See A Lot of  86

NBC announced the signing of Hines Ward this week. The Super Bowl MVP still has a lot of star power according to network sources. In fact, Ward even had to admit his appearance and winning on Dancing with the Stars might have helped. "I'm still more recognizable as a dancer," he said in a recent interview. In fact, Ward admitted the dance show probably gave him more exposure than being Super Bowl MVP.

NBC plans on using War with Costas on the pregame show for Week 1's Steelers-Bronco game. Ward will also be working the Week 3 game against the Ravens. NBC sources also said Ward will be used on Saturday college games.

Ward retired after 14 seasons with the Steelers.

Steelers To Host Fan Camps in Mexico

On June 23 and 24, 2012, Steelers will be hosting a Steelers Fan Camp in Mexico in Mexico City. Several Steelers will be attending including Harrison, Keisel and Sanders. The 24th date will include a Youth Camp. Kids will be given an opportunity to take part in several drills.
