Steelers-Dolphins Preview

Miami (6-6) @ Pittsburgh (5-7)
Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, 1 p.m., CBS ET

This game will no doubt determine if the Steelers make the playoffs especially following their loss to the Ravens last week.

There is a cause for optimism for the Steelers. They haven't lost to Miami at home since September of 1990. The Steelers have also won five straight games against the Dolphins. The last time the Steelers lost to Miami was in September of 1998.

Miami's QB, Ryan Tannehill, has 17 TD's this season and 13 interceptions. He's been sacked a whopping 45 times through the last 12 games. Having said that, he's thrown over 300 yards in consecutive games.

Roethlisberger, on the other hand, has not been intercepted in three consecutive games while throwing 10 touchdowns. He's completed 62.4% of his passes for 841 yards. Ben currently holds a 105.8% passing rating for his last three outings.  On the down side, Ben will be playing with his third center of the season, Cody Wallace. Wallace will be making his first career start replacing the injured Fernando Velasco.

A win over Miami paired with a Raven's loss to the Vikings would put the Steelers back in the hunt.

Current line: Steelers by 3.
